About the Programs

Group I (ages 2 ½-3 ½): This class provides a smooth transition from home to school and an introduction to group activity. The child/adult ratio is 2:1. Group I meets two mornings per week: Monday and Wednesday from 9 :00 -11:30. A typical morning includes art projects, story time, free choice time (blocks, dress-up, puzzles, games, and more), music, show and tell, snack, and outdoor play.

Group II (ages 3 ½-4 ½): This class encourages continued social and emotional development through group participation as the children explore the world around them. The child/adult ratio is 3:1. Group II meets three mornings per week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 - 11:30. The class incorporates themes, such as dinosaurs and friendship, into art, science, music, stories, and play activities.

Group III (ages 4 1/2 and up): This class emphasizes independence through frequent field trips and by involving the children themselves in classroom responsibilities. The child/adult ratio is 4:1. Group III meets four afternoons a week: Monday through Thursday from 12:15-2:45. This group offers the widest and most structured range of activities in the preschool.
