About our Teachers

Teacher Kym (Kym Meade) teaches Group I. She has a BA and a BS from Washington State University and was a KCP mom before teaching here. After substitute teaching for a few years at KCP, she became a full-time teacher for us starting in the fall of 2009. An accomplished artist, Kym created murals on the walls of the preschool that are enjoyed by everyone. In her own words, “the lucky family that enrolls at KCP receives support, encouragement, and a wonderful sense of family as well as a strong bond with their community.”

Teacher Doreen (Doreen Fisher) teaches Group II. She has a BA and teaching certificate from San Jose State University and was a KCP mom before teaching here. She taught elementary school in Mountain View, Calif., and was hand-picked by her predecessor, teacher Carol Smith, who started teaching at KCP in the 1960s. Teacher Doreen has been at KCP since 2000. In her own words, “Kirkland Co-op Preschool is a wonderful, supportive environment for both children and parents.”

Teacher Pam (Pam Fenton) teaches Group III. She has a degree in elementary education from Montana State University and was a KCP mom before teaching here. She has been a KCP teacher since 1986. In her own words, "KCP offers a nurturing atmosphere designed for the welfare and interests of families. I enjoy watching, and learning from, children and parents learning and playing together."
