About Kirkland Co-op Preschool
At Kirkland Co-operative Preschool (KCP) we feel that education is a family process. Children and their parents both benefit from our cooperative learning environment.
Our children learn through creative play, becoming chefs, dancers, scientists, storytellers, woodworkers, musicians, paleontologists, and artists as they combine activity and discovery with imagination.
Against a backdrop of activity and toys, KCP offers three age-appropriate classes for preschool children and their parents. Parents learn side by side with their children through involvement in their children's education. Monthly parent education meetings cover topics such as self-esteem, sibling relations, learning development, or boundaries, and allow parents to share concerns and ideas.

From the Parents
What will you and your child experience when you enroll at KCP?
Read what parents have to say:
"What a great experience KCP has been for my daughter and myself! We both love the mix of parent involvement and independence. Having a personal work day and getting to interact with other parents and teachers has allowed closer relationships/friendships for both myself and daughter. There is a comfort in knowing your child is truly cared for by the teachers and other parents of this school. I highly recommend our play based co-operative school!" - Malaika Silliker
"This is our family's 4th year and second child at KCP and we couldn't be happier. When my oldest son went off to Kindergarten last fall, I knew he had gained everything he needed to be successful in school at KCP. The friendships he formed are still his friends today and the amazing teachers are always asking how he is doing in school. Co-op is a wonderful way to transition your child from home-life to school and independence. A wonderful experience for the whole family." - Janna Snider

Giving Season Is Here
This time of year presents many ways to show gratitude and opportunities to give. KCP is thankful for each and every one of you, as you are the heart of our co-op. Thank you for supporting our program.

KCP has a longstanding tradition of supporting Olive Crest, through a giving tree located in our school entry. In the past we have collected items in need such as pajamas, books and toys. This year, our support will continue in a virtual manner through direct donations or purchasing an item on their Amazon Wishlist. Gifts may be sent to Olive Crest at 2500 116th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004. Olive Crest is an organization dedicated to supporting foster families and ending child abuse.
It is rare that KCP promotes fundraisers for other organizations as we try to keep our messages simple and related directly to Kirkland Co-op Preschool. However, we recognize the beloved impact Studio East and StoryBook Theater have had on our students over the years. How many of you have taken your children to the Kirkland Performance Center (KPC) to see StoryBook Theater children's plays? COVID has deeply impacted the ability for Studio East and StoryBook Theater to operate and stay alive.
